Obituary of Karmyn Louise Hardinger

Please share a memory of Karmyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Age 74, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at House of the Dove in Marshfield. Her family will be planning a celebration of Karmyn’s life. A date and time will be decided as soon as it is safe to gather family and friends. Karmyn was born on April 2, 1946 in Mauston, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Niles) Tank. After graduating high school, she went on to attend UW-Stevens Point on a scholarship. She worked in Fond du Lac and Beaver Dam before working as a medical secretary for an orthopedic surgeon in Madison. On September 9, 1972, she was united in marriage to LaVerne “Chuck” Hardinger at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. She was a gifted and talented photographer who had a great passion for music. She loved to sing and taught herself to play the keyboard. She also played the alto saxophone in high school. She was accomplished and well read, loved technology, and never allowed herself to stop learning. Karmyn worked hard not to let mental illness define her . . . She taught her children and grandchildren the power of acceptance, devotion to family, unconditional love, and faith in God. Most importantly, she taught them the absolute need to persevere and never give up. Those that will cherish her memory are her husband, Chuck; her daughters, Rebecca (Rod) Herman and Laura Lingford, both of Marshfield; her grandson, Nicholas and her granddaughters, Ashley, Zoe and Kylee. She is further survived by her sisters, Linda (Gene) Lind of Port Orchard, WA and Amy (Mike) Rechek of Fox Lake along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Tank; her mother, Margaret Sawdy and her brother, Duane Tank. If desired, memorials in Karmyn’s name should be directed to: Columbus Catholic Schools in Marshfield. Many thanks to the special doctors, nurses and CNA’s who took such phenomenal care of Karmyn while she was in the Palliative Unit of Marshfield Clinic and later House of the Dove. Karmyn’s arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer. Please visit www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com to share thoughts and condolences.
