PHYLLIS MARIE GOODLET
7-2-1923 to 6-18-2021
It is with great sadness that Phyllis Goodlet’s children share the news of her passing while under the loving care of staff at Serenity Assisted Living (A Touch of Home) in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where each caregiver became part of her family. We also wish to thank Heartland Hospice Care for all they did to make Mom’s last days peaceful.
CHAPTER ONE: Phyllis’s story begins in St. Paul, Minnesota where she was born and grew up.
CHAPTER TWO: Phyllis met Joe (William Joseph) when they served in the Navy. They went on to marry and raise 4 children – plus many dogs and one cat.
CHAPTER THREE: Her family was always her priority. Teri-Jo Sherburne, her first born, lives in Marshfield, Wisconsin with her husband, Jim. Their son, Matthew, lives in Green Bay with his fiancé, Lisa and son, Brody.
Linda Stulberg, number 2 daughter, lives in the Minneapolis area, as do her two daughters, Paige with son, Gage, and Dorian with husband, Chris, and their two children, Kylie and Colton.
Patti Fellenz, number 3 daughter, lives in St. Paul with her husband, Jim. Patti’s daughter, Meggan, lives in Florida. Her son, Justin, lives in St. Paul. He has three children, Wyatt, Savannah and Julia.
Finally – a son! Bill (William Joseph Jr.) lives in Ohio with his wife, Connie. Their son, Chad, also lives in Ohio with Brittany and their three daughters, Kayla, Addison and Marissa.
CHAPTER FOUR: A job transfer took Phyllis and Joe to Toledo for a few years. Retirement brought them back to St. Paul until they moved to Marshfield.
CHAPTER FIVE: FOND MEMORIES
- Spending summers on her aunt and uncle’s farm as a girl and getting into mischief with her cousins.
- Working as a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Paul.
- Golfing and bowling with friends.
- Baking cookies and sharing them with friends. She earned the title of “Cookie Lady” while living in Marshfield.
- Writing short stories and poems. She had a definite talent for writing and a wonderful sense of humor.
- Singing and dancing with her brother.
- Spending time at the lake.
- She cherished the time spent cuddling and rocking her grandbabies.
- Road trips.
- Well into her last years, she enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting and reading.
When she realized her earthly story must end, she turned the last page and continued forward.
REST IN PEACE, MOM. WE ALL LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
